Backflow Services
-
A backflow prevention system, backflow for short, is a device designed to prevent backflow and backsiphonage from water systems such as irrigation, back into municipal water.
-
By law, water systems such as irrigation are required to have a backflow preventer able to handle at least low-hazard environments. This currently includes two types of backflows: Pressure Vacuum Breakers (PVBs) and Reduced Pressure Assemblies (RPZs).
The state of Louisiana requires your backflow to be tested at least once a year, as well as at installation and after any repairs.
-
We gladly test backflow preventers! We test Reduced Pressure Assemblies, Pressure Vacuum Breakers, Double Check Assemblies, and more. Our licensed technicians are experienced testers and will make sure your backflow system is fully functional.
-
Our licensed technicians are not only able to perform the typical annual testing of backflow preventers, but took a step further and became endorsed by the State Plumbing Board of Louisiana and the Louisiana Health Department as Water Safety Protection Specialists and certified general testers, meaning they can repair and install backflow preventers as well; both PVB and RPZ.
-
The most common type of damage to backflow preventers is freeze damage. Unfortunately, this type of damage usually leaves the insides of the device warped, often requiring a full replacement. We offer services to minimize the chance of freeze damage to your backflow system by winterizing the system and insulating your backflow.
Did you know? Even though the reported weather temperature may be slightly above 32 F, it may not account for smaller pockets of air that are colder or warmer than the initial reading. This means that even if the forecast says the temperature is only going down to 34 F, your backflow could still be at risk of freeze damage!
